Primary Schools

Our Little Outdoor Classroom as a venue can be hired out to Primary Schools with students taking part in:
  • Outdoor Learning 
  • Nature Walks
  • Forest Walks
  • Weather Topic


The Classroom can be used by students and teachers needing:
  • ​

  • ​A Base - where students and teachers can use the toilets, kitchen facilities and Classroom facilities as well as local amenities. 
  • A Classroom - where students can spend time indoors in the comfortable surroundings or the outdoor classroom to use the Classroom resources such as the mud kitchen or greenhouse or just for lessons.
  • A Shelter - Planning trips can be difficult, especially if you are travelling far.  Unpredictable weather  can cause trips to be cancelled at the last minute. If you have a school trip planned in the local area, why not hire out the the Classroom in advance of a planned trip, this way you will always have shelter in case of changing weather and there are resources within the Classroom that you can use.
  • A Resource  - The Classroom has a number of resources that can be used by schools.  Teachers may wish to design outdoor learning lessons around the facilities in the Classroom or you may just wish to come and use them as part of your day-to-day learning.  The Classroom can be used in whichever way you want.

In time, there will opportunities for Primary School groups to use the Classroom for Outdoor Learning workshops and more information on that will be available in due course.

The hours that Our Little Outdoor Classroom is available for hire is between 9:30am and 2:00pm Monday to Friday and 9:00am to 4:30pm during the weekends.

The Classroom can accommodate up to 25 students.

Classroom Facilities include:
  • Toilet facilities including disabled facilities
  • Kitchen facilities - tea, coffee etc
  • Indoor space - 3/4 tables accommodating up to 25 children
  • Outdoor classroom - 3 picnic benches, gazebo 
  • Mud Kitchen
  • Greenhouse
  • Projector and screen (not interactive)
  • Weather Station - rain gauge, thermometer, wind vane, anemometer, barometer
  • Pens, pencils, rulers etc.
